Charles Street is the main thoroughfare running north through Baltimore.
It divides East from West Baltimore. This hike takes you from the Inner
Harbor, through downtown and then into the
Mount Vernon and Midtown
Neighborhoods. After leaving the modern office towers you enter an area
of grand nineteenth century townhouses. This is where Baltimore's
Gilded Age gentry resided and is now a culturally rich downtown environ.


Mile 0 - Begin at the Baltimore Visitor's Center. Take Conway
Street behind the center by crossing Light Street. Go one block
to Charles Street

Mile .20 - Take a right on Charles Street and head north

Mile 1.1 - Washington Monument...Continue north on Charles
Street

Mile 1.45 - Right on Chase Street at the Belvedere condominium
    The Belvedere was a grand old hotel that was converted into
    condos. The bar on the thirteenth floor has one of the best views
    of downtown Baltimore in the city.
Mile 1.55 - Right on St. Paul Street

Mile 1.9 - Right on Mount Vernon Place

Mile 2.0 - Left on Cathedral Street

Mile 2.3 - Left on Saratoga Street

Mile 2.5 - Right on St. Paul Street..St Paul becomes Light Street
after Baltimore Street

Mile 3.2 - Return to Baltimore Visitor's  Center
